About Gir Jungle Lion

Gir National Park is an unique place, in the world. It has some of rarest wild Life. It is last home of Asiatic Lion. Four horned antelope is also Found Only n Gir area. It is one of the best birding sites of India. It hosts more then 375 species of birds, both local and migratory. The forest is divided in two parts, eastern part is savanna type grass land and western part is dense teak forest. Many major rivers like, Hiran, Shetrunji, Shall, Dhatarwadi,, Shingoda, Machundri, Rawal, Madhuvanti originate from Gir. It provides water and fodder to millions of people of Saurashtra. Thousands of tones of fodder is collected from Gir area, every year and supplied to the various parts of Gujarat, During drought like situation. The forest is also having one of the highest density of marsh crocodiles.
